I had DISH for 10 years and NEVER had a problem like this. I want to make sure this issue does NOT go away until Direct TV actually fixes it. If Direct TV refuses to acknowledge it, repair it and allow it's customers to enjoy watching programs on pc's or tablets, do they just NOT CARE ABOUT US, THEIR CUSTOMERS? I pay a lot of money for the service but I am still forced to pay HULU, NETFLIX and CBS in order to watch my tv shows/movies on my laptop. This is affecting all of us and we've all tried different browsers with no resovle and this is a known issue that has been a problem for years.

It is the most frustrating, annoying and irritating thing I have ever had to deal with for a simple player that Direct TV knows is a huge problem and cannot spend the time for a single programmer to fix? If these "intelligent" tech support people cannot get the CISCO PLAYER to work, try something different! This is not a new problem, this is not a glitch, this is not isolated to a few customers, this is not a PC or MAC issue, this is not a Firefox, IE, Google Chrome issue this is a DIRECT TV issue. I see how old these posts are and it is really sad that even 6-7 years later Direct TV's Player is in no way working and has yet to be fixed. DIRECT TV PLAYER INSTALL, UNISTALL, REINSTALL.PROBLEM NOT FIXED!!
Meaning every device in your house can have 0 issues connecting to the network, getting out to the internet, or transferring data but as soon as a DirecTV device is present, it always has some kind of problem.DIRECT TV PLAYER DOES NOT WORK. You have to remember that whenever DirecTV technology and networking are mixed together, the results are always super flaky. That being said this issue was just eating away at my brain for a few days.

Usually if you see any kind of 500 error code or Internal Server Errors that is a good indicator the problem is on the other end. To me that says the error is on the server end.

If you don't have another adapter laying around, maybe try completely uninstalling all network adapters, software and drivers, then All,Įarlier in the thread I had posted the console output where you can clearly see there are server errors being generated. Give it a shot and see if this works for you. Either way, this solution got it working for me. It's possible that the locally running DirecTV player is attempting to use one of the virtual adapters without first checking to see if the adapter has a connection to the internet. I have a LAN adapter, but I also have some virtual adapters that are used by VirtualBox and VMware. Not sure what happened in this process, but I think it could have something to do with prioritization of network devices. Then I removed the USB adapter and enabled my LAN adapter again and everything was still working. BAM! I was watching all content on their site with no errors.

I disabled my hard wired LAN adapter, inserted a USB WiFi adapter, then attempted to watch a movie again. With all of that in mind, I decided I would try something. You can have an internet connection and be watching YouTube, but a DirecTV app can say you aren't connected to the internet. It's been no different with any software applications they make either. Meaning every device in your house can have 0 issues connecting to the network, getting out to the internet, or transferring data but as soon as a DirecTV device is present, it always has some kind of problem.
